Aurora, Colorado

My heart is broken by all the things happening in our world right now.

I feel lost and alone and insecure. I feel like I don't want to leave my house again. Ever.

Of course I have left my house and gone to class but not without fear in the back of my mind. People are bad. People are dangerous.

You know how your mom used to tell you "The whole world is not out to get you?" She was lying. I mean maybe not the whole world - but some people are.

I want someone else here to protect me. To tell me he'll keep me safe. To tell me I won't be going to movies anytime soon - even though I already know that and wouldn't argue one bit.

The world is too scary to be in by yourself.

  1. I hear you. I wanted someone with me to protect me when I was going through death threats and couldn't leave or enter my home alone. But...even partners can get sick, die early, be away on trips...

I hope that you can spend some nice time with a friend or two and that it will help.

  2. Satan is hard at work in this world unfortunately. We used to live in Aurora. I used to take my daughter to that mall all the time when she was little. My heart is broken for all the victims and their families. While fear is natural you can't let it rule your life, or you'll have no life. Reality is, Michael may not be able to keep me safe from the evil that's out there anymore than I may be able to keep our kids safe. We take precautions, do our best, and say our prayers, but that's about all we can do. I know you really, really want to find your mate, someone to share your life with, but know that God has a plan and he wants good things for you. It's hard to be patient, but sometimes it's the only choice we have. (((hugs)))

  3. Very scary and sad, indeed, but there's so much good out there, too. We can't forget about that:)

  4. Yes the world is definitely not a friendly place. But Tess is right--there is so much good too. Hang in there JJ.

  5. JJ, just thinking of you. Grace has stated this so well above. Trust in God and that is all we can do. Sending you a hug and I pray you will be surrounded with a peace like you've never known. The sun comes up every morning and it is a promise of a new day. Make good choices, be careful of your surroundings, and live your life. You are a blessing to those around you.
The Aurora tragedy was senseless and something we can't make sense of this side of heaven.

  6. There is so much more good than bad, but the bad devastates us. It is just so out of our minds to comprehend. It is good that we are not immune to the feelings, then it really would be a horrible existence. Try to start seeing the good. The Bible tells us to focus on the good. (Philippians 4). It also tells us to encourage one another, and to love one another. Yes, there are evil people in this world, but so many more good, loving people. Yes, we all have a tendency to be selfish, that is our sinful nature, but as children of the Most High God, we work toward something better. "If He is for us, who can be against us". He will guide you. He doesn't want you to hide, but to have joy. I will be praying that you find your joy again soon. God Bless You and All those you love, Belle L.
